Crystal & Randall.... Engaged!!

Crystal & Randall are my first official engagement session in West Texas! I'll be shooting their wedding in November-er- January of next year! They decided to change the date because of a few technicalities... hence the picture with the two dates!! It was a very recent decision... so I thought we'd play around with that a bit! :)

I got to do a shot I've had in my mind for months now.... the engagement ring on the cactus! I loved the fact that the Prickly Pears are finally ripe and I got to include them in a few shots... love their deep purple color! The only thing that could have made me happier with these is if it was with the wedding rings (which surely I'll get to do in the future!).

So you see they were wearing their boots.... and me... the Florida girl... showed up in my sandals to trudge around in all the brush!! I've seriously got to get with it!?

Crystal and Randall, I hope you find some that you love in this preview. I'll have your full gallery done by the end of this week! You guys were great to work with and I look forward to taking your Bridals (Crystal) next weekend, and being with you both on the big day!

Mary's Pregnancy Portraits...

This is Mary, and she's and her husband are expecting a baby boy in about 3 weeks! She was one of my first Abilene clients (yay!) and I was really excited about getting to work with her! Her family attends my church and I've been noticing her since we started going there... she's got a perfect "I swallowed a basketball" belly.... and not to mention that she's just beautiful!! I love her dark hair and blue eyes.... and she's a hairstylist too!! Always good to know!! :) I don't like to approach people.. but I finally braved it to give her my card and suggest she take some pregnancy portraits! Turned out, she was just thinking about finding someone to do them!!! It was meant to be!!

I was tickled to find this train to take pictures next to! I've been itchin' to get a Senior up next to or (better yet) on one... but haven't been able to find a stationary train with the colorful graffiti.... needless to say I was thrilled when I drove by this one and the grass was grown up around it as if it had been there for months!! We braved it, and I think the results were soo worth it! I was also excited to get her up next to these wild sunflowers that seem to grow everywhere here... and they were growing up right next to this cool building with the red door! Anyway... enough rambling!

Mary, I wish you a beautiful birth experience and I'm excited to work with your new little man when he is ready for his first photo session!!! Thanks so much for working with me!!

Newborn Nahuel...

This little "freshy" is fresh indeed! Nahuel is about 2.5 weeks old in these images... he's just a tiny little man! He was born 5 weeks early and weighs about 6 pounds now!! I met his sweet parents in church a week after he was born (his Mommy is my hero for making it to church a week after having a baby!!?). I gave them my card... I just couldn't resist!! Thankfully they called and scheduled!! What a treat for me!!! He was absolutely perfect!!!

I must confess that I had some seriously creative things in mind for this little guy , but wasn't able to make them happen this time! It's a work in progress!! So... I guess I could wait 8 more months for my own (yes, for those of you who don't know, I'm expecting!), but that is waaaay too long for me!! The next family to call for a newborn session will receive an extra 10x20" storyboard image with a series of 5 images on it along with their package purchase as a thank you for letting me "play" with their little baby bundle!! :) I've got some really fun things in the works for my future newborn sessions... more to come on that soon! :)
