I know Melanie from a wonderful Beth Moore Bible Study I've been attending at a church in Sweetwater... what a sweetheart she is! She and her hubby Blair have been in youth ministry for the last 8 years and have recently ventured out to start a printing and design business! I could really relate to their story... as Matt and I have been involved in youth ministry and also have ventured out in the start of my business (4 years ago) and most recently our HUGE step of faith to move to Texas! I liked them both from the start and was so excited to do this "Sweetheart" session with them! Apparently, they haven't had any fun professional photography done just for the two of them since their wedding... so... it made it even more fun to get to create these images for them! Of course, I took some family pictures and snapped some of their two beautiful babies too, Brody & Mallory. I haven't gotten to Mallory's pictures yet, nor the family shots.... but I wanted to get these up while I had a few minutes. I'm about to get a little busy taking pictures for a church event in town over the next few nights... more to come on that!

Thanks guys... I had so much fun! And hey- their new company is called His Image Design... they are designing websites, t-shirt art, printing of alllll sorts, logo and small business start up design, wedding/event videography, etc.! You can reach Blair at 325-235-4866! I don't have their website at this very moment... but i'll get it and post that too! My personal philosophy is that I prefer to support the locals... and not necessary "Corporate America" when at all possible (though we need them too!)... so give them a call! I'll have their info up on my links page here soon too!

So excited about this session! This is the beautiful Jennifer... who was excited to put on her wedding dress (8 years later and it fit perfectly!?) We shot this session at the gorgeous Pear Tree Game Ranch in Maryneal... what an amazing property! The combination of it all was just what I was hoping for! Jennifer didn't get to do a Bridal session when she first got married so this was extra fun for me to do with her! My favorites here are the image with Jennifer in front of the pear tree, and the two of her in the old house. That house is decades old and was completely falling apart... PERFECT for my style!!

Pear Tree is considering becoming a wedding venue in the near future... so you may even see some of these images on their website one day soon! How exciting! Thanks to Pear Tree for letting us shoot on the property... it was JUST what I had in mind for my first Texas Bridal session!

Hey there everyone! So.. before I get into these handsome boys here.... let me just put a disclaimer out there that this blog is under construction!! If you've been here before, you can see some changes have occured... so just bear with me as I figure out how to put the finishing touches on and get my menus in order! Thank you Rita for your help! It is looking beauteous!

Now to the good stuff.... how cute are these little guys? This is Jaxon, Connor, & Baby Will along with beautiful Mommy Jackie! Jackie contacted me after seeing the Eaker boys' photos and wanted some of her own!!! I was excited that she wanted to do some mom and baby photos too! Those are always the best! This studio type photography is something I usually shy away from... but for mommy/baby and pregnancy sessions it always turns out lovely! All this with just my back drop, speedlight bounced off the ceiling, and a bit of natural light from the window directly across from our set up! Easy! (Remind me to sell my full lighting set up!!!)

Mr. Will did great and like most 4 month olds the window of opportunity was short and sweet! I love his smiley faces and his little tongue stickin' out! Jackie is so photogenic too which made their images together so nice. Her older boys were a trip! She put Will down for a nap and instead of going into town to find some funky places to shoot... we just went right outside and used their lovely brick home and fence as our back drop! Perfect! Their sweet little pup (who's name is escaping me at this moment?) was peering through the little hole in the fence wanting to be a part of things... so much to her delight, we let her out to play too. Miss Jackie was a genius!!! Connor was kind of giving me those "forced" smiles that kids his age can do sometimes and so to make him laugh... she started pretending she was a bug and started buzzing with her fingers into my hair, and then I'd jump and say "eeeek" and the boys thought that was hysterical! It was perfect to catch their natural expressions and I'll be using that trick again SOON! :)
