Two Times the Fun!
So this was my third session with Anameik & Paul. Their Mommy, Sabrina, contracted me to take her pregnancy portraits (back when my business was newly blooming) and then the twins newborn portraits. This recent session was done as a gift for their caregiver, Melissa, who has been with them since infancy. She was very sweet & welcoming... and it was obvious that the kids adore her. Anameik reminded me of ME when I was her age... big baby blues and a toe-head blonde. Once they got comfortable with me, it was a lot of fun... though it was very very tough to get them to stay in the same place for more than a nanosecond! Nevertheless, got some fun candids and some great close-ups too. It was great to see how they had grown and changed since our last session. I look forward to working them again soon!!

The Third Time is a Charm!
Kreg (cool spelling, eh?) set up this pregnancy session for his wife, Christina, as a surprise gift for their anniversary! He scored major points in my book for the effort and thoughtfulness alone!!! She's pregnant with their 3rd baby and plans to have a home birth with the same midwife, Mary Harris, that delivered my daughter. Small world!?
We had a really nice time during this session. They had 2 spots picked out: one down by Fort Lauderdale airport called Greenbelt Park, and the other was a random park on the corner of a random intersection in Hollywood. Then we returned home and did some back drop shots in their home. I looove the one I posted here, what a beautiful pregnant silhouette she has. Their two kiddos were just as sweet as they could be... even though "Bubba" as they call him wasn't into pictures whatsoever! Typical 2 year old :). I managed to steal a few smiles anyway!
I wanted to get this blog up as a preview for them, as they are anxiously awaiting their proof gallery as I attempt to uncover myself from this pile of editing I'm working on!! Enjoy guys, these are a few of my favorites... but lots more to come!!
My Blue Eyed Babies!!
Sooo, I took this pictures of Trystan & Eli when we were up in New Jersey. I've been buried under a pile of editing, print orders, & 6 appointments last week alone and haven't had a chance to post them! Check out those blue eyes???! Whoa! I could stare at these 4 eyeballs all day long!! I'm allowed to admire them.... they are MY kids!!! :)
She Waited For Me!!!
Lori contacted me having seen some images I did of a friend-of-a-friend while I was in New York. She was about 37 weeks at the time... 2cm & 80% effaced! This posed a serious problem considering I wouldn't be home until about 4 days before her due date. She was seriously hoping and thinking that her son, Gabriel, was going to come early and fairly certain she wouldn't be able to wait. So.... naturally, I forwarded her some information on a few other local photographers that could do the session for her. To my surprise and delight, she chose to wait for me and take her chances. We did this session at sunrise on Deerfield Beach and she was just lovely! I loved the shirt she was wearing too... pink!? No one ever wears pink?
Much to Lori's dismay, Gabriel is playing hard to get and she's officially 3 days late (as of last night)!! I know that feeling all too well, I was 5 days late with Elise. Ugh! Well, Miss Lori.... at least you have some fun pictures to peruse while waiting! Eventually.... he MUST come out!! I'll be praying for a smooth, easy birth and I can't wait to meet Gabriel for our next session!
Thursday
An Early Session!
I met Gillian & Jason at church in New Jersey... they are the youth pastors there and are expecting a little one in October! Gillian's baby is only about 5 months old, a little earlier than normal for a pregnancy session, but it was lovely none-the-less! Gillian is from Ireland and has the most lovely accent. Jason brought is (fancy) video camera along and took some footage of his bride being photographed... and actually took some footage of my doing my "thang" too! It was hilarious and lots of fun. He's going to put together a 30-40 second video spot of me working for my website and/or this blog... I'll be sure to post it when he sends it over. It was a chilly, rainy day.. but the rain stopped for just the right amount of time so we could get the shots we wanted. They are a lovely couple and we so nice to work with!! I think they really enjoyed the time and were so sweet to watch as they loved on each other and the baby.
Mother Earth
I was so fortunate to be able to shoot with Mariesa while here visiting in New Jersey. Mariesa is about 8 months pregnant with her first baby and very excited. She's a belly dancer and teaches belly dancing.....and still keeps a full dance schedule to date! (go girl!) This was a most excellent and inspiring session for me. She met me at my family's home and we literally jumped in the car and went off in search of great picture nooks. We drove along a country road with beautiful homes on great big pieces of land. We stopped at a few of them and jumped out into their yards next to their trees and snapped away! I knocked on doors to ask permission but amazingly, not one person was home?! So... we trespassed... but it was great! I had been passing the home with red barn-like structure for days and had been dying to shoot there! The rock wall and grassy field were all just a bonus once we got up closer to the house! My favorite was the last series we did... in the middle of a field of flowering trees. It was so beautiful and really captured Mariesa's natural beauty too. She's debuting on my home page slideshow as the very first picture up... I thought it was just perfect... exactly what I was looking for to introduce myself and my style to prospective clients. Thank you Mariesa for your permission and having me as your photographer for this most special little bundle! And hey... that awesome wrap-like shirt she's wearing... the one with all the ruffles... that is actually a skirt!!! She just wrapped it around and tied it... and it was perfect to show off the belly! So moms... don't be afraid to think outside the box!!!

In Bloom In Bloom!!
Sooo, gosh.... I love it up here. Spring is highly under-rated. Just wanted to post a few pictures of the gorgeous flowers in bloom up here. These trees are EVERYWHERE... such a phenomenon to me! I feel like I'm in my element... In Bloom Photography!! These are Goldenrod, Magnolias, Cherry Blossoms, and Dogwood... the lilacs are blooming now and it smells delightful outside!
