Griffin & Fam

I feel like I have a history with this little man!!  This is his 4th session with me, he was in the womb for the first one.  I was with his lovely extended family and friends at his Bris Ceremony, and we shot a newborn session at his home, and just recently joined them again for a 4 month old session!  This guy is handsome and has such grown up features... and those eyes are some serious blue!!  I especially loved his little patch of hair on top of his head... his parents affectionately called his "toupee!!" He's teething already and we had to work hard to get those hands out of his mouth to see that grin underneath!  I added in a thumb-sucking shot just for fun, since this was the case!!

Griffin's mom just really struck me as ..... happy and content.  She had a glow about her that was even more present than when we took her pregnancy portraits.  You can see it all over these pictures!!  It was obvious to me that the bond between the three of them is very strong.... and this is one happy, thriving family.

Jason & Tonya

Jason & Tonya will be tying the knot in December and I will have the privilege of being their wedding photographer (yay!).  They drove down from Okeechobee last night & we met on Clematis Street in downtown West Palm Beach to shoot their engagement session.  It was a lot of fun as Jason is quite the crack-up!!  He kept us all laughing when he wasn't trying to stick his tongue in Tonya's ear!!  :)  I really love shooting in this area... so many great doorways and textures.  They did a great job and I can't wait to be a part of their big day!  Thanks guys... more pictures to come!

Two Miracle Babies!!

Willa & Sadie.... elegant  names for such elegant little ladies.  They honestly reminded me of little china dolls with their dainty features and creamy skin.  They are two miracles, as they were born 3.5 months early.... now just has chunky and happy as could be!  What a blessing they are to their family!

Tuesday

Tiffany...

So my husband got his first tattoo about 4 months ago.  The manager of the tattoo shop let it be known that he & his wife, Tiffany, were expecting their third baby girl soon.  My ear perked and I inquired as to whether or not he'd be up to trading services (as I've been considering a tattoo on my upper arm/shoulder area for a while now.... yes, I know.....).  He was game and convinced his sweet little wife to go for it.  I'd always wanted to photograph a mommy that was tattooed up!  She is petite and beautiful... and the canvas of some creative art as well as a gorgeous baby belly.  Thanks Tiffany for coming by... hope you enjoy these!  More to come...

PS. Don't you just love the skull undies??  I didn't want to cover them up because I thought they were so great!!  Her leg tattoo is so beautiful... never been much of a skull tattoo girl but this one was so beautiful!!  Who knew?  :)

Thursday

Jennifer & David...

This is Jennifer & David's first first little bundle.... they are likely already holding him in their arms as I post this!!  Jennifer contacted me at about 36 weeks with a serious sense of urgency about getting these images taken!  Poor Jennifer had been on medication to stop her contractions since 32 weeks and basically waited until we got these photographs taken to go off of the medicine!  She was seriously contracting throughout the whole session and had to take frequent breaks to focus on her breathing to get through them!!  I'd say she gets the award for mommy closest to labor taking pregnancy portraits!!

Bless her heart, I remember ONLY TOO WELL what that is like and I found myself feeling a bit envious of the ride they were about to take!  The birth experience is so intense and surreal....            Anyway, :) I wouldn't doubt it if they had the baby that night!  It has taken everything for me NOT to call them just to quench my curiosity!   It was a great combo session with a studio sitting in their (beautiful) home and a jaunt over to the beach for a few outdoorsy-types!  She is a beautiful mommy and I'm looking forward to meeting their little man at our newborn session!  Congratulations guys!

Wednesday

Three Belgian Beauties!

This is my lovely friend Ann.  We met some time ago at a Tastefully Simple party (YUM) and swapped our business info.  She has a thriving Arbonne International business (botanically based skin care, make-up, detox and wellness products for men, women, & babies).  Ironically, we both got involved in a local networking group a few weeks ago to promote our companies.  I've been enjoying seeing her smiling, fresh face and getting to know her each week at our breakfast meetings!

Her sister & niece came to visit from Belgium and Ann decided to celebrate their time together by hiring me to create some fun portraits of the three of them!  How nice is that??!  They all looked wonderful in their color-coordinated outfits and were very playful and fun!  Ann's niece, Femke, had a nice time splashing around and performing for me.  Ann had to translate everything I said to her as she spoke Dutch only.  Here is just a sampling of the pictures... Ann, there are lots more where this came from... it was hard to choose!?  Enjoy... and I'll be in touch when your gallery is uploaded!

Pretty exciting stuff, come to think of it... my work is in Spain, England, and now Belgium!  In Bloom Photography International.... has a nice ring to, eh?  :)

If you'd like to contact Ann about any of the wonderful Arbonne Products, would like an additional stream of monthly income, or want to try the Arbone Baby Skin Care line for your new little one (I highly recommend it).... you may contact her at 561.271.6534.

Sydney

I first met Sydney & Mommy, Shari, at Gymboree class.  Sydney was about 10 months old then, and just as adorable as she could be.  I was struck by her gorgeous blues and my first thought was, "I'd love to get my camera on HER!."  Much to my delight, Shari contacted me a month or so later as she had seen my work around town and had actually planned to call me before we even met!! (How great is that?)  We tried to get together for pictures pre-holidays of last year, but between our schedules and with me about to give birth to my daughter Elise at anytime... it didn't work out, much to our disappointment.  I was very excited when Shari contacted me again here recently, explaining how she had given up on trying to get any good pictures of her daughter on her own at this age, now 18 months, and had decided she needed "professional help!"  How hilarious, but oh-so-true!  I remember my son at that age... he saw me get my camera out and he went into "ignore Mommy" mode... either that or he would try to press his nose up against the lens which obviously was frustrating and funny all at the same time.  Ironically, Sydney did the same things!!  But, with the gentle coaxing of Mommy nearby, and lots of silly photographer-lady... we got it!  These are just a few of my favorites, but for what might be the toughest age to photograph (in my humble opinion), we got a TON of great shots and lots of smiles & laughs which are always a nice bonus.  I chose mostly non-smiley ones here... which are usually my favorite anyway!  She's a beauty.  Check out that floral dress!!  Apparently, Miss Sydney loves hats... another rarity at this age.  I had fun following her around and got my workout for the day!  Still have some more editing to do, but thought this would be a great sampling for her family to see in the meantime !  Enjoy!

Double the Fun!

This is April, a close friend of my dear friend, Lydia.  April is carrying two babies at about 37 weeks in that beautiful belly of hers... and man, she's a gorgeous mommy!  We got up early for this one... April took me to a very private beach spot near downtown West Palm Beach to do the "Earth Mother" portion of her session (a term we came up with as we discussed clothing options)!  We had a great time and it was nice to check out a new beach spot.  Thankfully, it wasn't blistering hot and the breeze was kickin'.   I was really amazed at her vibrance and spunk!  She really got creative with her outfits, especially the "Urban Belly" portion (the photos taken downtown!).  Her look totally matched the city backdrop.  We found all kinds of great textures, wooden doors, brick, and even went out into the middle of the street to take pictures.  She treated me to a Chi-Latte at Starbuck's on Clematis Street.  As we took a short break for her to change outfits and get glammed up, I sat and rehearsed my days of slingin' java at that very store about 6 years ago.  I went through management training there so I felt like I was at my old stomping-grounds!  Who'd have thought I'd be back, but with a completely different life, a husband, 2 kids, and a career I am actually passionate about for the RIGHT reasons!!?  Not me, but I'm seriously grateful.  Ok, getting too deep there....

Back to April!  April was a joy to work with and I can't wait to come back to see those two little babies once they are born.  I haven't had too many opportunities to photograph tiny, infant twins, so I'm super-excited about it.  Great job April.... thanks for your adventurous spirit and willingness to think outside the box a little with me!  :)  It was inspiring & I can't wait to bring my next Mommy downtown.

Can't wait to hear the good news... tick-tock, tick-tock!
